UAE school winter break dates for 2026–2027 announced

Three-week holiday from December 14, 2026, to January 3, 2027, for most schools

Students across the UAE will enjoy a three-week winter break during the 2026–2027 academic year, according to the latest announcement. The break begins on Monday, December 14, 2026, and ends on Sunday, January 3, 2027, with classes resuming on Monday, January 4, 2027.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed these dates for private schools in Dubai following the September-start academic calendar. Parents are advised to check their school’s approved academic calendar, especially if their children attend a school with an April-start academic year.

In Sharjah, the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has set the same winter break dates for private schools following the September-start calendar. Public schools across the UAE, regulated by the Ministry of Education, will also observe the same holiday period.

While most schools adhere to the standard September-start calendar, some private institutions may have different schedules. Parents should verify their child’s school calendar to avoid any discrepancies in holiday planning.
