The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has outlined the minimum salary requirements for residents wishing to sponsor family members or friends for a visit visa. The rules specify different income thresholds depending on the relationship between the sponsor and the visitor.
To sponsor first-degree relatives such as parents, spouses, or children, residents must earn at least Dh4,000 per month. For second- or third-degree relatives, including siblings and grandparents, the minimum salary is Dh8,000. Sponsoring a friend requires a monthly income of at least Dh15,000.
In addition to meeting the salary requirements, sponsors must hold a valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID, and provide proof of income through a salary certificate or attested labour contract. Additional documentation, such as proof of relationship and accommodation, may also be required.
Visit visa fees start at Dh200 for a 30-day single-entry visa, with additional costs for longer stays and multiple entries. A refundable security deposit of Dh1,000 is also required.
