Apple has launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in the UAE today. The tech giant’s latest innovation is available for purchase at Apple stores and online platforms, with prices beginning at Dh8,499. The device is designed with a distinctive folding mechanism that transforms the phone into a tablet-like screen, enhancing multitasking capabilities.

The iPhone Duo features a compact 5.4-inch display when closed and expands to a 7.6-inch display when opened. This flexibility allows users to operate two apps simultaneously with ease. Despite its advanced design, the Duo lacks some features found in other models, such as Face ID and a dedicated telephoto camera, opting instead for Touch ID and a dual 48MP rear camera setup.

According to Apple, the phone supports a 120Hz refresh rate on both displays and introduces new photography features like Smart Take and Kid Cue. However, it does not include ProRes video recording or an adjustable aperture found in the iPhone 18 Pro series.

UAE consumers can acquire the iPhone Duo through Apple’s official online store or physical locations. Monthly payment plans and trade-in options for eligible devices are also available.
